Total Solar Eclipse

On April 8th, 2024 at 1:41:15 pm the Total Solar Eclipse will begin in Rockwall Texas. The duration will be four minutes and seven seconds. For four minutes and seven seconds the lesser light will obstruct the great light.
In the Dallas area the projections are that an additional 100,000 visitors above the norm will join us in this historic event. Schools have shut down, employers are allowing telecommuting, first responders are on emergency alert… four minutes and seven seconds.
But what about my light? What about the voice and the message God has called me to shine light on? Do I allow petty differences of opinion to remove unity between me and my fellow Christians? Do I hold a grudge due to a slight or a bad day from my husband? Is there still a rift between me and my children over events years ago? Do other people's opinions and approval cause me to dim the message I am carrying? Sadly I have participated in each of these eclipses.
So how do I stand firm in the truth while the world around me replaces lies for truth and news is manipulated for politics?
During the eclipse the sun will still be the greater power. The moon will only appear to overshadow it. The energy and the light giving life will still be flowing to earth and in no way be lessened. In fact, only a narrow band of geography will experience the eclipse and I will be among that population. At four minutes and eight seconds the sun will once again begin to peek out from behind the moon. The shadow will be lifted and the full strength of the sun will return to shine on me.
Just as the sun will still be in the sky during those glorious four minutes and seven seconds, God’s still on the throne. Truth is still unmovable and great Love has already conquered death. I must hold fast and shine brightly no matter how circumstances appear. The darkness will not last!
John 1:5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot comprehend it.
